In order for your payment transaction to be secure, we use technology called a 'Secure Socket Layer', or 'SSL'. This encrypts your data before it is sent over the internet, so that if the data is intercepted it cannot be read. When you are using SSL*, you'll see that the first part of our website address changes from 'http://' to 'https://', and that a padlock symbol appears in your browser window.**

* We only use SSL for the final stage of a purchase, the sending of credit card details. Because data sent over SSL is encrypted, it is slower than an unsecured connection and we therefore use it only when necessary.
